Goldie M. Mayon , 86, a native and resident of Morgan City, died Friday, Sat. 9, 2016, at 12:25 p.m.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2016, from 9 a.m. until service time at Sacred Heart Church in Morgan City. A rosary will be held at 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m., officiated by her grandson, the Rev. Jacob Lipari III. Burial will follow at Morgan City Cemetery.
She is survived by her daughter, Paulette C. Lipari and husband Jake G. Lipari Jr.; grandchildren, the Rev. Jake Lipari III and Nicholas G. Lipari; twin sister, Sylvia Jett and husband Jimmy Jett Jr.; brother, Jethro Michel and wife Patricia Michel; a brother-in-law, Ray Mendoza; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Earl Louis Mayon ; parents, Rudolph and Clara Michel; brother, Merlin Michel; sister, Gwendolyn Mendoza; and first husband, George W. Cone Jr.
She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Morgan City and part of the Bereavement committee. She was an active member in AARP in Morgan City.
She enjoyed sewing, gardening and cooking.
