
Raymond Calvin “Cakie” Landry, a resident of Morgan City and native of Paincourtville, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2016. He was 90 and retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Raymond was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW Post 4222. He loved the time spent with his grandson, Brad, hunting and fishing. He also called Bingo numbers for the VFW.
He is survived by his daughters, Wanda L. Plaisance and husband, Darryl, and Ellen M. Romero and husband, Martin; 13 grandchildren, Brad Landry, Amber Hewett, Alyssa Hewett (Steven VietVu), Alex Plaisance, Addison Plaisance (Becky), Andrew Plaisance, Arianna Plaisance, Mallory Landry, Dayton Romero, Tysonn Romero, Kimberly Ruiz, Tricia Simmons (John), and Jonathan Romero; and 11 great-grandchildren, Bryce, Kylee, Autumn, Abigail, Annabelle, Achilles, Hezakiah, Kade, Lucy, Elizabeth, and Emarie.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce T. Landry; sons, Raymond P. Landry and Alvin D. Landry; parents, Paul and Rosa Prejean Landry; and 12 brothers and sisters.
Visiting will be at Hargrave Funeral Home today, Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visiting will continue on Friday from 9 a.m. until funeral services at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Morgan City Cemetery.
