AUDREY MAE JONES FALLS

Jeanerette _ Homegoing services for Mrs. Audrey Mae Jones Falls, 94, will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 30, 2016 at First Jerusalem Baptist Church, 835 Monnot Rd. in Jeanerette, with Pastor Arthur L. Alexander officiating. Interment will follow in Sorrell Community Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday inclusive of a musical and tribute service from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., at the church.
Audrey was born August 17, 1921 to the union of the late Jaco and Amanda Marks Jones in Four Corners, LA where was a lifelong resident.
Although she was reared as a Catholic, she confessed a hope in Christ and was baptized at Rock Zion Baptist Church by the late Rev. Rogers Johnson Sr. After his passing she continued to serve her church faithfully under the pastorate of the Rev. Craig Gregory and presently, the Rev. Arthur Lee Alexander.
She was the matriarch of her family and was a mother to her nieces and nephews, as well as a grandmother to so many others in the local community and abroad.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin J. “Bennie” Falls; two children, George Lloyd Alexander Jr. and Aldonia “Cookie” Plumboy; her siblings, Ethan Jones, Raymond Jones, Louella Francis, Geneva Jones, Eldora Widow, Rose Lilly Stevens and Helen Archield; and a son-in-law, Melvin Charles.
Audrey, a virtuous woman, whose life and legacy will always be embraced by her children, Benjamin (Felicia) Falls Jr. of Vacaville, CA; Gerald Falls of Tulsa, OK; Curtis (Carol) Jones Jones and Debra Walker, both of Houston, TX; Diana Charles, Beverly Alexander and Andrew Alexander, all of Four Corners, LA; Sydney (Loretta) Chanet of Zachary; Ronnie (Monica) Chanet of Prairieville, LA; Hilda Reynolds of Claremore, OK; Ira Lee Alexander of Inglewood, CA; Carolyn Francis of Franklin; Bonnie Chanet of Albuquerque, NM; and her first born grandson, whom she reared as her own, Kerry Alexander of Los Angeles, CA; one brother-in-law, Hypolite (Dorothy Archield of Houston, TX; 40 grandchildren; 56 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; her faithful nieces and nephews, whom she looked upon as her own children; and numerous relatives and friends, whose hearts will always cherish her love and wisdom.
