August 21, 1964-April 24, 2016
Sherry Kay Daugherty Ohmer, 51, a resident of Bayou Vista, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2016, in Rawlins, Wyoming.
Sherry was born in Houston, Texas, on Aug. 21, 1964, the daughter of Clyde L. Daugherty Jr. and Ruby Katherine Muchler.
Everyone who knew Sherry knew that she was a very positive person with a bubbly personality; she never met a stranger. She was always a very passionate person when she would talk to other people. She was a hopeless romantic who had a dream of owning her own company one day. She loved to be in the company of her family, but especially loved to spoil her grandchildren and also shoot darts with her friends. She was a lover of all animals.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by three sons, David LaCoste and wife April of Bayou Vista, Nicholas LaCoste of Patterson, and Austin Vinning of Stephensville; six grandchildren, Gildon Jackson, Anthony Jackson, James Jackson, Parker LaCoste, Raige LaCoste and Daxton LaCoste; one brother, William Daugherty and wife Elizabeth; two sisters, Renee Pierre and husband Steven, and Peggy Fenner; three sisters-in-law, Terry Daugherty, Francis Daughtery and Susie Daughtery; one cousin, Dolores Billiot and husband Paul; one uncle, James Dugas Sr.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde L. Daugherty Jr. and Ruby Katherine Muchler; and four brothers, David Daugherty, Richard Daugherty, Donnie Daugherty; one aunt, Mildred Dugas. and Meredith Callaway.
A visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Sunday, May 1, 2016, at Twin City Funeral Home with the visitation resuming from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 2, 2016, at Twin City Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Cuvillier officiating. Following the funeral service, Sherry will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery Mausoleum.
