GREGORY 'GREG' J. CART

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016, during a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian burial at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Bayou Vista to celebrate the life of Gregory “Greg” J. Cart, a native of Eunice and 36-year resident of Patterson, who passed away at the age of 56 on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016, at his home following a lengthy battle with pulmonary fibrosis.
Father Bill Rogalla will be the Celebrant for the Mass with Father Angelo Cremaldi concelebrating. He will be laid to rest in the St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum in Patterson. Serving as pallbearers will be his son, Patrick Cart, Travis Shilling, Jeremy Shilling, Michael Simoneaux, Mark Mendoza and Ritchey Arceneaux. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry LeBlanc, Dave Dinger, Raymond Verret Sr., Raymond Verret Jr., Randy Verret and Josh Luke.
A gathering of family and friends will be held today, Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016, at Ibert’s Mortuary in Patterson from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., with the Holy Rosary being prayed at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016, at Ibert’s at 8 a.m. with dismissal at 9:30 a.m.
Greg is survived by his wife of 36 years, Cindy; one daughter, Alyssa Cart and her companion Ronnie Cuvillier and his two daughters, Alaina and Elora Cuvillier; one son, Patrick Cart and his wife Nicole Cart and their children Jaden, Julien and Winnie Cart; his mother, Jenora F. Cart; five sisters, Monica Motes and her husband Timothy, Sue Ledet and her husband Darin, Kathy Shilling and her husband David, Angie Christy and her husband Tony, and Cindy Olwell and her husband Patrick; his parents-in-law, Raymond and Lola Verret; sister-in-law, Debra Verret and her husband Randy; brother-in-law, Raymond Verret Jr. and his wife Christine; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Valgene “Choker” Cart; his paternal grandparents, Velton and Henrietta Cart; his maternal grandparents, Enos and Gertrude Fontenot; and his godchild, Beth Verret.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of St. Joseph Hospice and Dr. Kendra McAnally for their compassionate and loving care given, as well as to Sylvia and Craig Verdine Sr. for their love and thoughtfulness during their time of loss.
