The Reverend, William Joseph Augman Sr., 92, a resident of Morgan City and native of Patterson passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at 8:11 p.m. at the Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans.
Visitation will be observed Sat., Nov. 12 at the Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church in Morgan City from 9 a.m. until funeral services at 11 a.m. The Dr. C. F. Smith will officiate. Burial with Full military Honors will follow funeral services in the Morgan City Cemetery in Morgan City.
The East St. Mary Parish Funeral Squad will perform full Military Honors.
William was employed and retired from the St. Mary Parish School System as a Truancy Officer and Bus Driver. William was one of the first African American Entrepreneurs in Morgan City and also a Retired Veteran of the United States Army, receiving an Honorable Discharge.
Survivors include his two sons, William Augman Jr. of Bogalusa and Reginald Augman of Patterson; three daughters, Renita Augman of Berwick, Betty Augman and Patricia LaGarde-Johnson both of Morgan City; ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, one son, two daughters, four brothers and a sister.
