DUDLEY JOSEPH DUPRE

Funeral services for Dudley Joseph Dupre will be held Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017, at the Church of the Assumption in Franklin during a 2 p.m. Mass of Christian burial. He will be laid to rest in the Franklin Cemetery Mausoleum. Father Lloyd Benoit will be the Celebrant for the Mass and conduct the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Shane Curry, Troy Dupuis, Kim Dupuis, Ray Broussard, Scott Broussard, and Kenneth Dehart.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday at Ibert’s Mortuary beginning at 10 a.m., with the Holy Rosary being prayed at 12:45 p.m. followed by the eulogy.
Dudley was a native of Louisa and a lifelong resident of Franklin. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather, son and brother who overcame his disabilities to become a successful businessman. He, along with his wife, raised three children, two of which were special-needs children. Dudley was also a longtime parishioner of the Church of the Assumption who had deep prayer life. He passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the age of 84 on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, at his home.
Survivors include his son, Artie Joseph Dupre of Franklin; his daughter, Debbie Jeffreys and her husband William of Youngsville; three grandchildren, Michelle Curry of Beaumont, Texas, Shane Curry and his wife Jamie of Lafayette, and Lori Goodrich and her husband Kevin of Virginia Beach, Virginia; eight great grandchildren, Logan Domingue and his wife Alyse, Katelyn Blum and her husband Dylan, Hannah Domingue, Jack Domingue, Liam Curry, Luke Curry, Ellis Curry, and Olivia Goodrich; two great great grandchildren, Marlee Boutte and Arielle Domingue; his nephew, Ray Broussard, whom he considered as his baby brother; his niece, Harriet Logan and sister-in-law, Sadie Boudreaux, whom he considered as daughters; as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie “Margie” Boudreaux Dupre; his son, Dwayne Anthony Dupre; four brothers, Amos, Ferdinand Jr., Eugene, and Marshall Dupre; four sisters, Annabell LeBlanc, Lucille Theriot, Marie Odell Chauvin, and Irene Dupre; and his god-child, Cresta Dupuis Trahan.
