Memorial services for Janet Arnaud Ortego will be held Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Ibert’s Mortuary in Franklin, with a gathering of family and friends beginning at 8 a.m. and the Holy Rosary being prayed at 10 a.m. Father Ruben Primor will conduct the service. Inurnment will be held in St. Peter Cemetery in Grand Prairie.
Mrs. Janet was a native of Arnaudville and a 59 year resident of Franklin. She passed away peacefully at the age of 80 on Monday morning, Jan. 16, 2017, at her home with her husband by her side.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Burtman Ortego; three children, Cindy Ortego, Tony Ortego and his wife Cathy, and Burt Ortego and his wife Wendy; three siblings, Earlon Arnaud and his wife Dolores, Vedrie Arnaud and his wife Delores, and Audrey Vidrine; four grandchildren, Collin Ortego, Grant Ortego, John Savell, and Sarah Landry; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Robert “Jeff” Ortego; her parents, Ashton and Elmire Arnaud; one brother, Ashton Arnaud Jr.; and one sister, Ethel Thompson.
