Bonnie Latiolais Cass, a native of Galveston, Texas, passed away Sunday, July 17, 2016, at the Patterson Health Care Center at the age of 71.
A bright light in any room, Bonnie loved to make people smile with her humor and positive outlook; this is especially true of those in the medical profession who knew “Mama Cass”. While easy going, she was known for speaking her mind if the need arose. Still, even then, everyone loved and admired Bonnie.
She had many interests but was best known for being well versed in wine and sports cards dealing, which she bought, traded, and collected. Her family remembers how excellent Bonnie was at cooking. There was no “specialty” for Bonnie because she was great at creating anything in the kitchen. Her presence and smile will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
Bonnie leaves to cherish her memory her son, Greg Cass; her granddaughter, Patience Cass; her sisters, Deb Hebert and Cindy Latiolais; and her brother, David Broadway.
She was preceded in death by her parents, L.B. Martin Latiolais and Mary Francis Jenkins.
In keeping with Bonnie’s wishes, memorial services will be held privately at a later date.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Natalie Dishman, the staff at Teche Regional Medical Center, and the staff at Patterson Health Care Center.
