Funeral services will be held today, Monday, Aug. 29, 2016, at Hargrave Funeral Home. A memorial time of visitation will be held at 5 p.m. with a memorial service taking place at 7 p.m. to celebrate the life of Debra Jones MacConnell, a longtime resident of Berwick, who passed away Friday, Aug. 26, 2016, at the age of 60. Dismissal will follow at 9 p.m.
Debra was a loving wife, mother, aunt, sister and friend to many. She worked alongside her husband, Brian MacConnell, at the Petroleum Club of Morgan City, where she enjoyed seeing so many residents and friends of the Tri-City community. She enjoyed participating in local Mardi Gras krewes and other community events. Debra and Brian have enjoyed traveling together over the recent years.
Survivors include her husband, Brian MacConnell Sr.; her son, Brian MacConnell II and his wife, Macy; her sister, Sherry Breaux and brother-in-law, Dale Breaux; her brother, Kevin Jones; and several nieces and nephews who knew that Debra was the coolest aunt ever.
She was preceded in death by her parents, June and Ken Hidalgo; and her mother-in-law, Leigh MacConnell.
