Sharon Smith, 48, a native and resident of Morgan City, died Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017, at Franklin Foundation Hospital.
Visitation will be on at Mount Zion Baptist Church from 9 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the Morgan City Cemetery.
She is survived by her mother, Aline H. Smith of Morgan City; a son, Joseph A. Cagnolatti of Morgan City; four daughters, Quetanna Smith of Lafayette, Tornesha Smith and Shaunice Smith, both of Morgan City, and Key’Ance Louis of Kansas City, Missouri; four brothers, Willie Hayes Sr. of Baton Rouge, Reginald Smith of Orlando, Florida, William Skinner of Lake Charles, and Tremaine Skinner of Morgan City; a sister, Angelia Clark of Morgan City; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, a brother, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Mrs. Nancy Harris Carter, 84, a native and resident of Morgan City, Louisiana, died Jan. 7, 2017.
Visitation and funeral services will be held at Morning Glory Ministry, 1223 Railroad Ave., Morgan City, Louisiana, on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, with visitation at 9 a.m. until funeral services at 11 a.m.
Interment will be at Morgan City cemetery.
She is survived by her sons, Gregory Carter, Sean Carter, Ernest (Seimeka) Carter, Elder Donald Wayne Bogen (Lena), Joe (Judith) Bogen and Don (Anna) Carter; daughters, Pamela (Samuel) Morrison, Audrey Carter Williams, Marion Carter, Nicole Carter and Regina Carter Holden; 13 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Carter Sr.; her parents, Richard and Louise Harris; two children, Michael Jones and Tammy Carter; brothers, Robert, James and L.G. Harris; sisters, Hettie Laurel Jacobs, Willie Mae Oaten, Orita Harris and Evoka Harris; and two grandchildren, Zyana Martin and Dallon C. Lyles.

Franklin Foundation Hospital is currently under new management after Stephanie Atkins-Guidry accepted the position of Chief Executive Officer of the facility after a months-long process to replace interim CEO Craig Cudworth.
Guidry brings decades of experience to the job having been active in the medical and hospital management industry since the early 90s. Guidry said her goals for FFH and the responsibility of CEO is to provide high-quality health care for the people of St. Mary Parish.
“I’m very excited about this,” Guidry said. “This is a great hospital and it serves a great service to the people here. My main focus is community and physician relations and making sure we are serving the citizens of Franklin and St. Mary Parish.”
Guidry said what attracted her to the position of CEO and the community included the people she had encountered during the interview process.
“This is a very warm, embracing community,” Guidry said. “I’m excited about becoming a part of the community. My primary focus is how to serve the community.”
Guidry’s background includes leadership positions as CEO and CNO at the USMD Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas; administrator of multiple facilities; chief nursing officer at the Medical Centre Surgical Hospital in Fort Worth; director of surgical services in Granbury, Texas; program director and All Saints Wound Management; nurse manager at All Saints Health System; and clinical manager of the Curative Wound Care Center at the All Saints Health System in Fort Worth.
Guidry received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at Texas Christian University in 1990 and her Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Services degree at the University of Dallas in 2001.
Amos Leonard, 73, a resident of Morgan City, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017, at Teche Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services for Dudley Joseph Dupre will be held Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017, at the Church of the Assumption in Franklin during a 2 p.m. Mass of Christian burial. Dudley was a native of Louisa and a lifelong resident of Franklin. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather, son and brother who overcame his disabilities to become a successful businessman. He, along with his wife, raised three children, two of which were special-needs children. Dudley was also a longtime parishioner of the Church of the Assumption who had deep prayer life. He passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the age of 84 on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, at his home.
Survivors include his son, Artie Joseph Dupre of Franklin; his daughter, Debbie Jeffreys and her husband William of Youngsville; three grandchildren, Michelle Curry of Beaumont, Texas, Shane Curry and his wife Jamie of Lafayette, and Lori Goodrich and her husband Kevin of Virginia Beach, Virginia; eight great grandchildren, Logan Domingue and his wife Alyse, Katelyn Blum and her husband Dylan, Hannah Domingue, Jack Domingue, Liam Curry, Luke Curry, Ellis Curry, and Olivia Goodrich; two great great grandchildren, Marlee Boutte and Arielle Domingue; his nephew, Ray Broussard, whom he considered as his baby brother; his niece, Harriet Logan and sister-in-law, Sadie Boudreaux, whom he considered as daughters; as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie “Margie” Boudreaux Dupre; his son, Dwayne Anthony Dupre; four brothers, Amos, Ferdinand Jr., Eugene, and Marshall Dupre; four sisters, Annabell LeBlanc, Lucille Theriot, Marie Odell Chauvin, and Irene Dupre; and his god-child, Cresta Dupuis Trahan.

Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 16, 2017, at the Church of the Assumption in Franklin during a 2 p.m. Mass of Christian burial celebrating the life of Louise Dyer Fouquier Hargrave. She was laid to rest in Perpetual Park Cemetery mausoleum. Father Lloyd Benoit was the Celebrant for the Mass and conducted the services. Serving as pallbearers were her four grandsons, Chad Fouquier, Nick Fouquier, Jamon Vaccarella, and Kevin Fouquier II, her son-in-law, Jody Vaccarella, and grandson-in-law, Ben Myers. Honorary pallbearers were Tommy Sherwin, Bennie Wayne Cunningham, Roy Dyer, Raymond Dyer, and Wayne Dyer.
A gathering of family and friends was held Sunday, Jan. 15, at Ibert’s Mortuary of Franklin from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., with the Holy Rosary being prayed at 7 p.m. Visitations resumed Monday at Ibert’s at 10 a.m. and continued until time of dismissal at 1:30 p.m.
Louise was a native of Oakdale and has resided in Franklin for the past 64 years. She passed away at the age of 81 on Friday, Jan. 13, 2017, at Franklin Foundation Hospital.
Survivors include her husband of 14 years, August Hargrave; three children, Homer J. Fouquier Jr., Janet F. Vaccarella and her husband Jody, and Kevin Fouquier and his wife Christine; eight grandchildren, Chad Fouquier and his wife Holly, Nick Fouquier, Jaci V. Betty Frederick Louviere, a native and lifelong resident of Franklin, passed away at the age of 85. A loving wife, mother, friend, and woman of faith, she joined her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017, at 9:11 a.m. with her husband, children and grandchildren by her bedside.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Stanley Louviere; her seven children, Skee Louviere and his wife Cathy, Ladd Louviere and his wife Pam, Blaine Louviere and his wife Rachel, Corey Louviere and his wife Carol, Amber Soprano and her husband Kim, Mikelyn Louviere and her companion Charles Percle, and Jondalyn Louviere and her companion Todd Martin; 20 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and six siblings, Donnie Frederick, Terrell Frederick, Sylvia DeMahy, Jeanette Pichoff, Diane Stelly and Viola Juneau.
She was preceded in death by her son, Reese Anthony Louviere; her parents, Viola and Didier Frederick; siblings, Hazel Frederick, Charles Frederick, Barbara Choate, Carolyn Chatman, Tommy Frederick, Jimmy Frederick, Wayne Frederick, and Michael Frederick; and her in-laws, Bill DeMahy, Raymond Stelly, R. Her favorite pastimes were spent dancing with her husband, traveling with their friends, babysitting many children, playing cards with her family, doing Seek-A-Word, watching game shows and cooking for her family.

Brenda Carol Nowakowski, 53, of Franklin and a native of Landstuhl, Germany, passed away Saturday, Jan. 14 at 7:30 a.m. in Cut Off, La.
A repast will be held at the Franklin Senior High School Cafeteria from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 22.
Brenda is survived by her husband, Joseph Nowakowski of Franklin; her son, Richard Nowakowski and his wife Jamie; four grand-children, Richard, David, Simon and Millie Kay; her son Joseph Nowakowski of Coteau and her brother Louis Steinke Jr. of Germany.
She enjoyed helping others and was a certified nurse assistant and restaurant manager before her long illness took her life. The United States Army awarded her a Civilian Army Achievement medal for her outstanding help during troop deployment when her husband was on active duty.
Brenda will be missed by many students and cadets she helped at Franklin Senior High School.

Mr. Norman Patrick Hymel, Jr., a former resident of Morgan City and longtime resident of Patterson passed away at the age of 75 on Monday, Jan. 16, 2017, at his home surrounded by loved ones. He graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering from Louisiana State University. After working in the oilfield for many years, he founded NORMCO Contractors Inc. Following his retirement, he worked closely with the Come, Lord Jesus! program for over 20 years, with a special interest in faith formation of young people.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Merry Beth Barstow Hymel; his son, William Barstow Hymel and his wife Ashley Alfortish Hymel; his daughter, Kathryn Hymel; six grandchildren, Nicolas Patrick Guarisco, Kathryn Ryan Guarisco, Gabrielle Guarisco, John Robert Hymel, Mary Grace Hymel, and William Barstow Hymel, Jr.; great nephew, Don Diaz, Jr.; and great granddaughter, Isabella Elise Thompson.
He was preceded in death by his son, John Robert Hymel.
Shirley Price Giroir, 95, a resident of Morgan City, passed away Monday, Jan. 16, 2017, at Patterson Health Care Center surrounded by her loving family.
Shirley was born on Sept. 17, 1921 in Morgan City, the daughter of Allen Joseph Price Sr. and Camilla Dugas Price.
Shirley was a faithful parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a longtime member of the Catholic Daughters as well as the Morgan City Garden Club. Shirley was a founding member of the Krewe of Galatea.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by four children, Lynn Giroir and wife Colleen of Poulsbo, Washington, Joy Loupe of Morgan City, Cyrus “Rusty” Giroir Jr. and wife Dianne of Houston, Texas, Rosalind Sloan and husband John of Morgan City; 17 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Allen Joseph Price Sr. and Camilla Dugas Price; husband, Cyrus Giroir Sr.; one son, Dale F. Giroir; one granddaughter, Celeste Loupe; one great grandson, Sean Giroir; one son-in-law, David Loupe; one brother, Allen Price.

Donovan “Donny” LeBlanc, 78, a native of Jeanerette and a resident of Berwick, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017.
Donny loved to camp with his family and friends traveling all across the country. He liked fishing and sporting events especially, LSU and ULL. Donny was a retired Industrial Arts and Drivers Ed teacher from Berwick High School. He was a Volunteer Fireman with the Berwick Fire Department with over 35 years of dedicated service. After his retirement from active firefighting, he began teaching fire safety to Elementary school students. He was a past President of the Cajun French Music Association and the Berwick Volunteer Fire Department. Donny was a baseball coach for Berwick Dixie youth and an usher at St. Stephens Catholic Church. Donny was also a veteran of the United States Navy. He received an undergraduate degree from ULL and a Master of Education from LSU.
Donny is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sandra Streva LeBlanc; sons Glen LeBlanc and wife Georgia and Brian LeBlanc and wife Lynne; and two granddaughters, Brianne and Nicole LeBlanc.
Donny was preceded in death by his father, Donald LeBlanc, and his mother, Vivian LeBlanc.

Jennifer Marie Allen McNally, 35, native and resident of Morgan City, passed away Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017.
Jennifer loved taking photos of nature, the outdoors, and her family and friends. She loved her pets, Sophie and Elsa, traveling to the Smoky Mountains, waterfalls and hiking. Jennifer was a lifelong member of Berwick United Pentecostal Church. Jennifer loved to sing and sang in church as well for family.
Jennifer is survived by her husband, Tommy McNally; stepdaughters, Celena Rock and Harley McNally; mother-in-law, Virginia McNally; her parents, Timothy Sr. and Mary Allen; and her brother, Daniel Allen.
Jennifer is preceded in death by her brother, Timothy Wayne Allen Jr.; grandparents John and Blanche Noriega and Kenneth Allen Sr. of Atlanta Georgia, and Willie Mae Schysm Marcantel of Dequincy, Louisiana; great-grandparents, Mertie Schysm, Bill Schysm and Wilma Jean Schysm; and her father-in-law, Thomas McNally.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017, at Berwick United Pentecostal Church, 3067 Sixth St., Berwick, Louisiana, 70342 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. at Berwick United Pentecostal Church. Graveside services will be in Berwick Cemetery.
