Curtis J. Myles Jr., 77, died Jan. 11, 2017 at 3:12 p.m. He was a native and resident of Morgan City.
Memorial services will be held at the Otis Mortuary Chapel, 501 Willow St., Franklin, Saturday at 1 p.m. with burial rites at the chapel at 1 p.m.
He is survived by a daughter, Monica M. Myles of Houston, Texas; a brother, John Myles of New Orleans; five sisters, Carrie Smith of Seattle, Wash., Ellodie Boyd and Evelyn (Joseph) Spellman both of New Orleans; Ruth (Lawrence) Matthews of Harvey; and Janie (James) Sanders of Gretna; two grandchildren, De’Andre Lancelin and Kiara Watson of Houston, Texas; a great-great granddaughter De’Dreanna Narcisse of Houston, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and two brothers.

CHARLES WAYNE BROWNLEE

Charles Wayne Brownlee, 70, of Magazine, Arkansas, passed away Jan. 15, 2017. He was born June 15, 1946, to Robert Lee and Johnnie Joe (Rankin) Brownlee. He worked as an industrial mechanic for many years at Waukesha-Pearce Industries. He loved to play golf, fishing for catfish, hunting and working on old cars.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Johnnie Brownlee; his wife of 52 years, Violet Judith (Boudreaux) Brownlee; one son, Robert Lee Brownlee; and one sister, Bobbi Dupont.
Survivors include one daughter, Valrie Emberson of Magazine; two sisters, Glenda Bancroft of Berwick, Louisiana, and Mohrea Nelms of Booneville; three brothers, Ronald Lee Brownlee and wife, Shirley of Pass Christian, Mississippi, Jeff James Brownlee and wife Kerri of Enola ,and Michael Patrick Brownlee and wife Betsey of Ione; one grandchild, Charley Emberson; one goddaughter, Kate Ann Rodriguez; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Pallbearers will be Steven Rodriguez, Charles Brownlee, John Jones, Cody Brownlee, Jaymie Brownlee and Jeffery Brownlee.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017, at Twin City Funeral Home with a visitation being held from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Following the services, Charles will be laid to rest in St. Lawrence Cemetery in Chacahoula.

Funeral services for Walter J. Chauvin Jr. will be held Monday, Jan. 23, 2017, during an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Centerville. He will be laid to rest in Teche Gardens Cemetery in Verdunville. Father Ruben Primor will be the Celebrant for the Mass with Father Oneil Landry concelebrating. Serving as pallbearers will be Ryan Polito, Brodie Young, Raymond Young Jr., Bart Polito, Merlin Giroir, Roy Poe, Glenn Fletcher, and Kerry Aucoin.
A gathering of family and friends was held at Ibert’s Mortuary on Sunday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with the Holy Rosary being prayed at 6 p.m. Visitations resumed Monday morning at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Walter was born on Bayou Chene on May 1, 1931 to the late Walter J. Chauvin Sr. and the late Eufamie Kelly Chauvin and has been a longtime resident of Verdunville. He passed away at his home at the age of 85 on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017. At the age of 19 he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country and fellow man during the Korean Conflict. He was an accomplished aluminum and wooden boat builder who took pride in showing his boats at local festivals, especially the Bayou Teche Black Bear Festival and the Bayou Teche Wooden Boat Show. Some of his favorite pastimes were enjoying the outdoors and having family over for cook-ups. He was truly a loving husband and devoted father whose family meant the world to him. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include three children, Walter J. “Sonny” Chauvin III and his wife Darlene, Ava Chauvin Young and her husband Raymond Jr., and Heidi Chauvin Polito and her husband Bart; six grandchildren, Cassie Chauvin, Kayla Young, Brittney Polito Broussard and her husband Jacob, Megan Chauvin, Ryan Polito, and Brodie Young; one great grandson, Luca Paul Broussard; four sisters, Deanna Benedietto, Theresa Giroir, Judy Werline, and Amy Chauvin; his beloved dog, Buster; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Burns Chauvin; his parents, Walter J. Chauvin Sr. and Eufamie Kelly Chauvin; and four brothers, Charles “Blackie”, Larry, Jimmy, and Johnny Chauvin.

Funeral services for Joseph A. “Joe” DeMarco will be held Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017, at 1 p.m. at Ibert’s Mortuary in Franklin. He will be laid to rest in Perpetual Park Cemetery. Father Cedric Sonnier will conduct the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Joseph P. DeMarco, Dwayne P. DeMarco, Richard J. Tabb, Richard T. Tabb, Erin M. DeMarco, and Livise P. Anslum. Mr. Joe was born on Feb. 19, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan to the late John DeMarco and the late Angeline Leone DeMarco. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and in his early years lived in numerous places until settling in Franklin where he has resided for many years. In his early years in Franklin, he was an employee of St. Mary Iron Works for 24 years. Following its closing, he went on to work for Hanagriff’s Machine Shop where he worked for 29 years until retiring in 2015. He was an excellent mechanic and could fix anything that needed repairing. He took great pride in advising and helping family and friends fix their cars. A family man at heart, Mr. Joe was a wonderful provider to his family and a great friend to many. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those he leaves to cherish his memory include his six children, Gay DeMarco, Angeline M. DeMarco and her husband Richard Tabb, Joseph P. DeMarco, Donna A. DeMarco, Demara L. DeMarco, and Dwayne P. DeMarco and his wife Tina Sinitiere DeMarco; seven grandchildren, Richard, Alaina, Jamie, John, Tahra, Erin, and Sarah; as well as 15 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline Robicheaux DeMarco; one sister, Mary DeMarco Behm; and his close companion, Flora Mae Landry.

Bruce Charles Cronier, 59, a resident of Morgan City, passed away Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017, at his home.
He was born on Feb. 7, 1957, in Morgan City, the son of Charles Joseph Cronier and Irene Mason Cronier.
He is survived by one daughter, Erika Cronier of Morgan City; four sisters, Reva Reed and husband Roy of Krotz Springs, Charlotte Opperman and husband Bob of Patterson, Doris Dore and husband Brian of Ville Platte, Brenda Gonatas and husband Alex of Ithica Greece; former spouse, Lori Taylor Cronier of Morgan City; and former mother-in-law, Frances Grizzaffi Taylor of Morgan City.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Joseph and Irene Mason Cronier; one sister, Alice Gibson; former father-in-law, Robert A. Taylor.

Mary Ann Deslatte, 70, a native of Franklin and resident of Morgan City, died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017, at her residence.
She is survived by her son, Aubrey Thompson Jr. of Berwick; a companion; brother, Jimmy Miguez of Oregon; sister, Bobbie Verdin of Lafayette; two grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister.

La Wanda Faye Burrell, 53, a resident of Patterson and a native of Franklin, died Monday, Jan. 1, 2017 at 4:40 a.m.

La Thi Vu, 83, a native of Bui Chu, Vietnam, and a longtime resident of Amelia, passed away Sunday, Jan. 22, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.
She is survived by her five sons, Du Van Nguyen, Phong Ngoc Nguyen, Ba Van Hoang, Ho Van Nguyen and Trung Van Nguyen; six daughters, Khuyen Nguyen Tran, Vong Thi Nguyen, Luu Thi Nguyen, Lua Thi Nguyen, Chin Thi Nguyen and Mung Thi Nguyen; 53 grandchildren; 84 great-grandchildren, 25 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Ho Pham; and a sister, Tua Pham.
La was preceded in death by her husband, Nhu Van Nguyen; her parents, a sister, a daughter, a grandson, and a great-great-grandson.
She was a faithful member of Thanh Gia (Holy Family) Catholic Church.

Brenda B. Green, raised in Berwick and a longtime resident of Stephensville, was called to her heavenly home where she was reunited with the love of her life on Monday, Jan. 23, 2017, at the age of 75.
Brenda spent her life caring for others as a Registered Nurse and was a devout Christian. Those who were blessed to have Brenda in their life knew that her faith and family came first. Brenda was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Her presence will forever be missed.

Martin William Quain, a lifelong resident of Morgan City, passed away Sunday, Jan. 22, 2017, at the age of 60.
Martin was known for his generous and loving nature as well as being a true Saints and LSU fan. He admired the American Bald Eagle and enjoyed watching old western movies because he was a cowboy at heart. He was a member of the Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity and was an Eagle Scout. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Wallace Joseph Arcemont Sr., 83, a lifelong resident of Bayou Vista, passed away Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017.
Wallace will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his three children, Mary Elaine Brunet and her husband, Jerome, Wallace “Wally” Arcemont Jr., and Anne Marie Davis and her husband, Mark; five grandchildren, Kane Guill, Elle Arcemont, Orry Arcemont, Kevin Davis and Cameron Davis; four siblings, Agnes LeBlanc, Virginia Cavalier, Eddie Arcemont and his wife, Anna, and Marguerite Bergeron; and a host of nieces and nephews.
